Brainwave Bikes

One of things I enjoy about working in the social enterprise space is coming across great businesses that are doing good.

Brainwave Bikes is one of them. Recently launched, this is a Melbourne based social enterprise that refurbishes donated used bicycles on a large scale. They aim to prevent the thousands of bikes that currently head to landfill, offer affordable bikes for families, while providing employment and traineeships for people with disabilities.

Brainwave Bikes, Melbourne’s first superstore for refurbished used bikes is located close to the Moorabbin DFO. They have a 700 sqm showroom whilst also displaying their bikes online at www.brainwavebikes.org.au

Manager of Brainwave Bikes, Kieran McMahon, said that “we have hundreds of quality, refurbished and tested used bikes for children and adults so the whole family can get mobile. With the cost of living rising, Brainwave Bikes is a great choice for families wanting affordable and well-made bikes”.

“As well as preventing landfill and providing work experience for young people living with disabilities, proceeds from the sales of Brainwave Bikes go to funding Brainwave’s support for children with brain illnesses and injuries and their families to adapt and thrive.”

So, if you’ve got a bike to donate or if you want to buy one then please contact the great team at Brainwave Bikes.
