Etiko Becomes B Corp Certified

Etiko Becomes B Corp Certified

At Etiko, we’re totally committed to ensuring all our products are ethical throughout every step of their lifecycles.

Ensuring responsible production of our products is obviously important to us – our business was founded on the principles of aspiring to do good in the world and putting people and the planet first.

When customers buy from Etiko, they can be assured that we are selling them products that have been made by workers and farmers who are paid a living wage, and that the materials used have been organic and Fairtrade certified.

Now, customers don’t just have to take our word for it… we can verify it.

I’m proud to say that as of 2017, Etiko is now a Certified B Corporation, which means we have been assessed by the non-profit B Lab as meeting the highest standards of overall social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability and that we aspire to use the power of our business to solve social and environmental problems.

This makes us part of more than 1,600 Certified B Corporations globally, representing more than 120 industries and 42 countries.  The one unifying goal we have is to redefine success in business.

The assessment process to become certified is extremely rigorous. But being thoroughly vetted by an independent third-party organisation shows that we really do put our money where our mouths are.

To take part, a business needs to volunteer to do so, and then obtain a ranking that takes into account over 20 of the businesses areas of operation. This includes things like worker ownership, supply chains and energy usage.

Since Etiko was founded in 2006 as a small family-owned business, we’ve been committed to paying farmers and workers in the developing world fairly for their labour to help lift them out of poverty.

We continually look for ways to raise the bar and have positive social and environmental impacts.

Becoming a B Corp puts us alongside other companies around the world who are doing great things to bring about change – and together we are committed to using business as a force for good.
