We are looking for a responsible all rounder Admin / Shop Assistant to perform a variety of administrative and retail sales in our shop front. Duties of the role includes but not exclusive to, providing support to our managers and employees, assisting in daily office needs and managing our company’s general administrative activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service

  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards

  • Maintain a fully stocked store

  • Ascertain customers’ needs and wants

  • Recommend and display items that match customer needs

  • Welcome and greet customers

  • Manage point-of-sale processes

  • Actively involve in the receiving of new shipments

  • Keep up to date with product information

  • Accurately describe product features and benefits

  • Follow all companies policies and procedures

  • Process returns

  • Answer and direct phone calls

  • Plan meetings and take detailed minutes

  • Develop and maintain a filing system

  • Maintain contact lists

  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients

  • Maintain cleanliness office and showroom



  • Proven working experience in retail sales

  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

  • Track record of over-achieving sales quota

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills

  • Customer service focus

  • Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality

  • Basic administration skills

  • Exceptional knowledge of office management systems and procedures

  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers

  • Proficiency in Google Docs

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • High School degree


Highly Desirable

  • Previous experience with an ethical/purpose based organisation, such as a not-for-profit or social enterprise. (May include voluntary experience).

  • Understanding of the principles of Fair Trade

  • Interest in social media and marketing
